Tuning your Shopsmith Scroll Saw for optimal performance:

The Shopsmith Scroll Saw is a practically maintenance-free machine. However, to maintain its optimal performance, occasionally, a few very simple procedures are required. Here's what we suggest:

• Every time you change Blades - Check to ensure proper Blade tension
• Every time you finish using your Scroll Saw -- Release Blade tension. Brush off and blow off accumulated sawdust. Clean out the Blade Guard Tube.
• As needed - Wax Work Table surface.
• Yearly -- Lubricate the Air Pump Seal (located under the rectangular Base Plate) with one to two drops of 30W non-detergent oil. Complete instructions are provided in your Manual.
