Tuning your Shopsmith Scroll Saw for optimal performance:

The Shopsmith Scroll Saw is a practically maintenance-free machine. However, to maintain its optimal performance, occasionally, a few very simple procedures are required. Here's what we suggest:

  • Every time you change Blades - Check to ensure proper Blade tension
  • Every time you finish using your Scroll Saw -- Release Blade tension. Brush off and blow off accumulated sawdust. Clean out the Blade Guard Tube.
  • As needed - Wax Work Table surface.
  • Yearly -- Lubricate the Air Pump Seal (located under the rectangular Base Plate) with one to two drops of 30W non-detergent oil. Complete instructions are provided in your Manual.

If you're having problems with your Shopsmith Scroll Saw, start by referring to the Troubleshooting Chart in your Owner's Manual. If you are unable to find the solution to your problem there...or of you don't have an Owner's Manual, please feel free to call our TOLL-FREE Technical Services Hotline at 1-800-762-7555 for assistance.
