Here are eight relatively simple methods for adding strength to mitered corners.

There are a number of easy ways available for reinforcing the mitered corners of picture frames and similar projects. These illustrations show eight options that are relatively simple to form. When installing false tenons and splines, be sure the grain of the wood in your "inserts" runs ACROSS the mitered joints for maximum strength.
