Tip #228
The pegboard stand-off solution

To maintain a proper clearance behind your pegboard for the hooks to go into, try this trick.

Use hot melt glue to attach stacks of two or three washers over the mounting holes you plan to use on the back side of your pegboard. Be sure to use washers between your screwheads and the front of the pegboard to avoid breaking the pegboard when you tighten it down.

The glue will hold your spacers in place so you can even remove the panel from time-to-time, without fear of losing your spacers.
