How to bore straight (perpendicular) holes with a portable electric Drill

STEP 1: Cut a piece of 3" x 3" (approximate is OK) stock about 1" to 1-1/4" thick

STEP 2: Use your Bandsaw (be certain its blade is perpendicular to your Bandsaw's table surface) to make a "V-Block" from this piece of stock.

STEP 3: Insert your bit into the chuck of your electric Drill so that it (the bit) rests solidly in the "V", along the full height of the Block you made in STEP 2, above.

STEP 4: Move your Block so the Bit's point aligns perfectly with your desired hole's centerpoint…turn on your Drill…and bore your perpendicular hole.
