Invest
a little time and save bundles when you buy lumber.
Unfortunately
for woodworkers, wood costs money. There are ways to beat
the high cost of lumber, however. You just have to do a little
looking around.
The easiest
way to save money on wood is to do what the furniture companies
do -- buy in quantity. If you live in an area where there
are hardwood forests, there will probably be a hardwood distributor
nearby where you can order lumber. However, you’ll have to
buy somewhere in the neighborhood of 500-1000 board feet to
get the best prices. Even if you had the cash to buy ten year’s
worth of lumber, where would you put it?
